Classic Strawberry Shortcakes Recipe

2 1/3 cup (575 mL) BISQUICK* mix
1/2 cup (125 mL) milk
3 tbsp (45 mL) sugar
3 tbsp (45 mL) butter or margarine, melted
Sliced fresh strawberries
Whipped cream or topping


•Heat oven to 425°F (220°C). Stir Bisquick* mix, milk, sugar and butter until soft dough forms. Drop large spoonfuls of batter onto ungreased baking sheet (makes 6 large shortcakes).
•Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
•Split warm shortcakes.
•Fill with strawberries and whipped cream.

How-To: To measure Bisquick* mix, spoon it into a dry-ingredient measuring cup, then level the top with a metal spatula. Variation: Great with any fruit or fruit combination!
